Tunes On The Tube: February 5-11

Hi lovelies!

Ashley has reappeared into the blogosphere, and I don’t know about you, but I am so happy to see her! Her posts are always fun to read, and usually give me at least a couple good chuckles by the time I’m done reading. If you haven’t already seen T Swift’s manic Grammy dance moves or the Oscar edition of Between Two Ferns, I highly suggest you get yourself on over to Ashley’s latest post, where you can find them both.

While everyone and their mother were killing it at The Grammys on Sunday night, I was working on a big project for Creating With The Stars! My poor roommates have had to deal with a large piece of furniture taking up space in our dining area, along with the smell of primer and paint (don’t worry I keep the windows open when I prime!), since Saturday morning. And it won’t be back in our breakfast nook until this weekend, unfortunately for them. If you’re reading this, sorry Megans! (Yes, I live with multiple Megans.) My very exciting before-and-after major furniture redo will be up by Feb 21st, hopefully sooner. It’s still in the “during” stages, but I think it’s going to turn out great!

In the midst of Home Depot runs and priming and painting and spray painting and sawing and various other I’m-redoing-my-furniture-madness, I’ve managed to keep up with most of my shows, and I’ve got some awesome music for you this week. PRETTY LITTLE LIARS gave us Madi Diaz and Lianne La Havas (thanks, PLL!), and GREY’S (nine seasons in and I’m still watching) proved it still knows what’s up with a new track from Phosphorescent, along with some newish Grizzly Bear.

Tuesday, February 5th

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: “Burn” by Madi Diaz (from We Threw Our Hearts In The Fire)

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: “Gone” by Lianne La Havas (from Is Your Love Big Enough?)

Thursday, February 7th

GREY’S ANATOMY: “Song For Zula” by Phosphorescent

GREY’S ANATOMY: “gun-shy” by Grizzly Bear (from Shields)

Enjoy, and happy Tuesday!

xx Hannah

Shazam’d! Sunday – April 15th

I’ve Shazam’d so much music over the past 2 weeks, it’s a bit overwhelming listing it all here!  Here’s hoping you can get through it all and find something new and amazing and obsession-worthy.

My favorite of this bunch is Nitin Sawhney’s “Living On A Wire” feat. Lianne La Havas.  It’s a breathtaking track from UK composer Sawhney, and it had me hooked at first listen.  Lianne’s first single, “No Room For Doubt,” also caught my ear this week… if you like Feist, you’ll love Lianne La Havas.

Also of special note is Metronomy, who’s supporting Coldplay on their North American tour this year.  “Heartbreaker” is an old track, but a good one.

“Living On A Wire” by Nitin Sawhney feat. Lianne La Havas (from the album Last Days Of Meaning)

“No Room For Doubt” by Lianne La Havas feat. Willy Mason (from the EP Lost & Found)

“Do You Remember” by Ane Brun feat. First Aid Kit (from the album It All Starts With One)

“Heartbreaker” by Metronomy (from the album Nights Out)

“Gone Tomorrow” by Lambchop (from the album Mr. M)

“(Kissed You) Good Night” by Gloriana

“You’ll Be Mine” by The Pierces (from the album You & I)

“Forget It” by Blood Orange (from the album Coastal Grooves)

“Parted Ways” by Heartless Bastards (from the album Arrow)

What about you?  Have you heard anything AMAZING this week that you just have to share?  I love learning of new music, so please, share away!
